Applying

  • Students apply to either the Molecular, Cell and Development (MCD) Biology program or the Ecology, Evolution and Organismal (EEO) Biology program.
  • Applications are due by December 15, 2009.
  • Applicants must submit a short essay detailing research and career interests, and indicate research interests from the list of participating departments. They may also list up to four faculty of interest, selected from the faculty associated with the program.
  • Applications will be prescreened by the MCD and EEO selection committees based on GRE scores, undergraduate GPA, letters of reference, research experience and academic potential. Ethnic and gender diversity also will be considered.
  • Top candidates will be invited to UGA for interviews in late January. Successful candidates will be notified in February.
  • Candidates not recruited by the ILS will be referred to participating departments as potential applicants.
  • Applications for the MCD and EEO programs are made through The Graduate School  at the University of Georgia.
